Clove essential oil (Syzygium aromaticum)

Description

Clove essential oil acts stimulatingly, it is used as an aphrodisiac, help against chronic fatigue and intellectual fatigue. It can be used to help upper respiratory tract infections, arthritis, rheumatism, inflammation, infected wounds, ulcers, etc. Clove essential oil has long been used as an anesthetic in dentistry as antiseptic and powerfully analgetic in case of  gums and teeth infection.

Its use in dentistry for disinfection and as dental anesthetic has been replaced by synthetic or purified eugenol which is the main ingredient of clove essential oil. It is very strong, so it should be used sparingly because it can irritate the skin and eyes. Do not use undilluted  essential oil directly on skin because it can burn the skin. Instead, you can dilute 3-20 drops of essential oil with 30 ml of olive or almond oil, and then apply it to the face, body or scalp as a massage oil.
